what i like about you…

sooner or later i’ve got to get around to writing some preacherly things, but for now, as i’m trying to learn, cave man style, how to work this WP thingy, i’ll just write em as they come up… and here’s the Mango bike; a bike bought by me and built out by my buddy ray roske in denver. this bike started life as a 1969 moto guzzi ambassador v750 police bike. by the time a kid in moses lake sold it to me it had been through a lot. i’d later find the guy who saved it from the junk yard, vince barry, a great guy who’s become a friend and told me the story of the bike from the time his step-dad had it, but by then it had already seen over a decade of highway and who knows what else.

i sold this bike last week, thanks also to ray. a mutual friend hooked us up almost two years ago and i’ve never been closer to anyone in my life…besides lisa of course…and in such a short time. that’s what happens every once in while when kindred spirits find each other. this makes the third old moto guzzi ray has fixed up and sold for me. it’s helped me pay off some of the bad debt i’ve got myself into the past 4 years. what a good friend and what a cool motorcycle. i like this profile of it the best: the way it leans on that mile long funky cop kick stand, the old solo seat…i bought the bike for that seat alone… the handlebars and crash bars and single old tail light; and of course, the rattle can in-the-garage-one-aftenoon wicked cool paint job ray did it on to turn it into the Mango bike… just a few of the things i like about the bike. the list for what i like about ray is much longer…
